Yesterday I was woken to the girls arguing about beds of all things! While I got dressed and ready Harmonie managed to fall and bruise her chin. As I comforted her I shhhed her gently to calm her down. I got in response, 'don't tell me to shh! I sad, I want to cry!' What can you say to that? I just said, fair enough, you cry then, I love you poor sweetie. It was actually quite surprising how quickly she then calmed down.
When I went downstairs I was shocked by how much mess the first two had made, then, when sweeping up the kitchen floor, before feeding my caffeine addiction, I discovered the cats had urinated under the kitchen table.
What a calamitous morning!
I decided that I wasn't going to let Monday morning win. I was going to make the day nice even if it was to have a handful (or two) of blips in it.
After breakfast Chiara and Naomi worked on the last bits of their Ancient Egypt project, Honi wrote a letter and did a worksheet and Harmonie played letter bingo. Peace was intermittent but I was definitely defeating Monday's plans to turn the day completely blue.
Then we did some science. We made a wing! The girls loved it, it involved some maths and Harmonie just kept calling it her toy so she enjoyed it too!
We did have to pop out to the shops quickly but when we came back the girls still seem in capable of getting on, even when watching a film so instead I called them back down. Chiara knitted, Honi was on Moshi Monsters and Naomi and Harmonie drew. There was mostly peace and smiling faces.
